1. Sesshu Toyo
Sesshu Toyo born 雪舟 等楊?) (Oda Tōyō since 1431(1420 – 26 August 1506) was a Japanese painter. Born to a samurai family however, early in life he displayed a talent for visual arts, and eventually became one of the greatest Japanese artists of his time, widely revered throughout Japan and China.
His amazing pieces of traditional japanese paintings that some people will be confused thinking they are woodcuts paintings and prints. Interested and awed by nature and old traditional temples he created his works mostly by studying on birds and once painted the whole four seasons of the same place. I like the misty feel of his paintings looking at it i feel at peace and calm all of my troubles washing away and put in some koto instrument (stringed instrument) will create a sense of tranquility.
Hokusai compare to this guy i will stick with Hokusai because of the wild and bold colour that show of in his work and took him perhaps a whole year to complete one piece of work. Toyo is a great Japanese painter of his time the sense of calm i think came from his mind because he moved to China because of the war and wanted to built a studio a little world of his ownto get away from reality in my opinion.
2. Ben Allen
I find that Ben Allen's works are similar to Zak's in a way because of all the collage style and the way he splatters the paint around. In my opinion i think that Ben long ago liked the work's of Zak and wanted to create some of his own, but i think there is a difference because i think that photoshop was involved with Ben's work to create the butterfly wings and the over the picture technique as i like to call it.
What drawn me to Ben's works is that all the colour and the skulls obviously, but I like to create a big collage with painting it is a free way to express you'r self and forget about all the tidy widy style as i like to call it. I am interested in his skull work i have here because not of the nude women mind you, but the butterfly wings and a nice effect it gives the work. Working in a multitude of media like Comic books, Japanese Graphics, nature and human condition like the two nude women for example i think it represents death. He dose have lots of clients but I think that he likes to create his work for fun.
